Friendship of Salem
This is a reconstruction of an 18th century 3 masted sailing ship that once sailed from Salem. The reconstruction was completed in 1998. This was taken at the historic wharves at the Salem Maritime National museum in Salem, Massachusetts. The ship is part of an exhibit to show people what maritime life was like in the past. The original Friendship sailed to exotic ports in Europe and the far east for goods and spices to bring to America before being captured by the British in the war of 1812.
