Blue Angel II
As long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by cemeteries, principally old ones. It started when I was younger and really into family history, and hunting down family graves seemed like the thing t do. I know I was a weird child – it’s a badge I wear with pride.
In recent years, this has evolved into visiting any old cemetery regardless of chances that family is there or not. There’s something about these monuments to loss, these tender memories expressed in stone, that have a special place for me.
This series of angels were taken at Atlanta’s historic Oakland cemetery one overcast and foggy morning. The blue tint is from purposefully selecting the wrong white balance. I consider them a series, but they may, of course, be purchased individually.
