Legends of Arthur
This photo is from Tintagel Castle on the coast in Cornwall. The castle was actually built in the 13th century by an earl of Cornwall who believed it was the site where King Arthur was conceived. There’s also a nearby cave that is referred to as Merlin’s Cave. It was made to look more ancient than it was and held little interest to future earls who gave it away. Within a century, it had already started to deteriorate. The area became a tourist destination in Victorian times when the legends of Arthur caught their interest.
While I liked the original image well enough, I decided to have some fun with this one I’ve added some texture to it. The source is actually a letter from my great grandfather to my great grandmother! That aside, I was trying to give this more atmosphere like those romantic legends and really like the results!
