Westminster Abbey
There has been a church on the site since around the 10th century, and it has been the site of coronations since William the Conqueror in 1066.
The current gothic church was begun by Henry III in 1245 and is a collection of 800 years of embellishments since with more building planned in the next few years (although the first major construction at the Abbey in 200 years).
Along with being the official church of coronation, it was the site of burial for many of the kings and queens of England as well as a variety of VIP’s honored in death.
