About

Mark is a native of rural Middle Georgia, who has lived in the Metro Atlanta area for the past decade. Currently back in middle Georgia planning to spend some time traveling. It’s his experience traveling that developed into a love of photography. Although he can’t recall when he first held a camera, he began to study the art in more detail following his first international travel in 2004.

Mark learned the basics in a classroom, but the rest has been picked up as a result of continual practice, the only way to learn any art form. This exercise has been accompanied by observation and discussion with other artists in multiple forums.

For Mark there is something magical about capturing a single moment and preserving it for others to see and appreciate. When someone has a reaction to his work, that moment of connection makes it worthwhile. Described variously as a jack of all trades, photography is the only craft he’s had a desire to master. Mark desires to go deeper than simple images. The object of his work is to capture the emotion of a moment in a photographic medium.

While his principle interest is travel photography, he has recently exercised his creative needs on sites more accessible on a more routine basis. Of special interest has been examples of fading Americana, industrial scenes, rural imagery, and natural landscapes.
